2022 FVRC Spring Thunder Regatta

BOAT REGISTRATION

Please read these instructions carefully to ensure full registration.

In addition, please note the following requirements:

    APBA Membership: To be permitted on the water, you must be a member of the American Power Boat Association or the Canadian Boating Federation and a minimum age of 16. You are responsible for showing that you are an APBA member. The Registrar cannot accept outdated cards. Please contact APBA if you have not received a current card. Single event memberships for $50 will be available at registration.

    FVRC Membership: Drivers and riders must be members of the FVRC or another APBA associated Club to be allowed on the water. FVRC 2022 membership is $40 and available for purchase at registration. The Club requirement does not apply to CBF members.

Registration Instructions:

Option 1: Complete all registration forms, save them to your computer, determine the total amount due and pay by credit card below. You will need to UPLOAD the finished documents when making the payment so we can match the amount to your purchases.

Option 2: PRINT and MAIL registration forms with Check or Money order to: FVRC, PO Box 561544, Rockledge, FL. 32955

Option 3: (Least desirable) Complete forms and pay registration + late fee at event using cash, check, or credit card. Banquet tickets may not be available for participants at the event.

Make sure to fill out the Vintage Boat Information document for the announcer and bring it to registration at the event.

    Safety Requirements and Other Information

    Waiver of Liability: All participants (Drivers AND Riders) must sign an APBA approved waiver of liability and release form. Parents or legal guardians of minors must sign waiver and release form. If a minor will not be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to a race, the Minor Release may be completed by the parent or legal guardian off-site. The original must be brought to the race site, printed in color, notarized, and should not be folded.

    Physical Exam: All drivers / co-drivers of ANY inboard powered boat must have a physical exam on file with the APBA within the last 2 years. ALSO, any driver / co-driver of an outboard powered boat who is 60 years of age OR OLDER must also have a recent physical on file. NO RIDERS of any boat are required to have a physical. Use the APBA or other approved physical form. Please bring the completed medical form with you to registration if current physical is not reflected on your APBA card.

    Safety Inspection: All boats must be inspected prior to being allowed on the water. Inspections will take place on Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. It is the responsibility of the Owner/Driver to contact an inspector. Have all safety equipment available. You must sign the APBA safety inspection sheet with APBA number or APBA single event membership number. All boats must meet the current APBA inspection requirements as specified here: https://www.apba.org/resource-rules-and-regulations.html

    Driving Safety: Only owners of boats will be allowed to drive unless they have prior approval from the event referee at the event. All drivers / co-drivers and riders must sign the APBA Entry Form for the boat in which they are riding. Any unsafe operation of boats will not be tolerated.

    Consumption of Alcohol: No one shall participate on the water, nor shall any official serve in an official capacity, after having consumed alcohol or controlled substances or while intoxicated. Consumed shall mean from midnight before the day of the event. Crew members are not exempt. Direct any driving safety concerns to the Drivers’ Representative at the event.

    Personal Safety Gear: Helmets and jackets must be consistent with APBA approved guidelines. Goggles, face shields or V&H approved eyewear required. Drivers must wear appropriate driving gear with long sleeves, long pants, and closed toe shoes. All crew must wear closed toe shoes in the pits.

    Pit Safety: o No inboard engines running with prop shaft connected. o No outboard engines running with propeller or hardware on prop shaft. o No smoking or alcohol permitted in the hot pit area during the event. o Only active APBA Drivers, Crews, and Officials allowed in the hot pit and launching area. o Please, always stay aware. o No pets in the hot pit area.
