Subject: The FVRC Tavares Fall Thunder – CANCELLED

The FVRC Board considered several items and unanimously agreed that we must cancel the Nov. 12-14, 2021 Tavares Fall Thunder event. The FVRC will focus its funds and attention to make the March 2022 event bigger and better than in previous years. We apologize to those who have registered and made reservations – we thank you for your continued support.

The cancellation has very little to do with Covid restrictions, although we were unable to secure local (Lake Co.) ambulance support. Our sanction and insurance applications were completed with the APBA, but other factors were insurmountable. Some of the key factors were: very limited boat registration, some financial burdens securing necessary required services, uncertainty with volunteer availability, and US / Canada Border restrictions for many of our staff and participants. The low boat count was a key factor…and there are several reasons associated with that.
